TERM TIME JEWELLERY & SILVERSMITHING COURSES
It’s more than a jewellery class...
Join Teresa Crickmar in her Lode studio for a creative jewellery and silversmithing journey where you’ll learn new skills, make beautiful things and discover what you’re capable of creating.
Whether you’re picking up a saw for the first time or looking to develop your existing skills, these courses are designed to support you at your own pace. You’ll learn how to use traditional jewellery-making tools and techniques including measuring, cutting, filing, texturing, forming and soldering, building the confidence to bring your own ideas to life.
Each term includes suggested projects to help you develop essential skills, but Teresa believes the most exciting work comes from your own ideas. If you have something you’d love to make, a piece you’ve been dreaming about or inspiration you’d like to explore, she’ll help you understand the materials, techniques and processes needed to make it happen.
The first session is designed as a complete beginner’s introduction or a gentle refresher if you’ve stepped away from making for a while. You’ll learn how to use the tools safely, understand what is possible and choose materials for your upcoming projects with Teresa’s guidance.

She believes the design should be just as important as the finished piece. Your work should reflect you, your ideas and your story
A creative space where everyone belongs
Teresa’s workshops are known for being welcoming, relaxed and full of encouragement. Many learners arrive feeling unsure, saying “I’m not creative” or “I don’t think I can do this”. Very quickly, they discover that creativity isn’t about being perfect. It’s about curiosity, experimenting and giving things a go.
With over 25 years of experience as a jeweller and more than 20 years as a teacher, Teresa creates a supportive environment where people can learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy the process of making and designing.
The studio is a place for laughter, conversations, creativity and connection. There is space for celebrations, frustrations, ideas, mistakes and those wonderful moments when something finally works.
Coffee is encouraged. Music is played. Questions are welcomed. The occasional cuss when the silver refuses to cooperate is also accepted.
More than making
Creative Therapy Space was created from Teresa’s belief that making things changes us.
Each class offers a chance to slow down, focus your mind and reconnect with the joy of creating something with your own hands. Over time, learners become part of a supportive community where friendships grow alongside skills.
Every learner joining a term-time course has the opportunity to enjoy:
• Weekly tutorials and guidance to develop skills and confidence
• Information sheets to support learning between sessions
• Half-term projects exploring new techniques
• Visiting Expert Tutors
• Opportunities to market, exhibit and sell work at Creative Therapy Space exhibitions
• Optional trips and creative outings, including visits to London jewellery districts, museums and galleries
From learning how to change a saw blade to creating work you’re proud to share, Teresa will guide and encourage you every step of the way.
